Once you have cut the cords, you may want to add this next step. After all the cords are cut and the issues have been released, I tell my clients that it's time to shrink that person down because they are taking up too much real estate in their minds. I want them to see the person as insignificant — because most of the time their nemesis made them feel insignificant.
Some people shrink them down to a bug and step on them. Some add funny features like a clown nose or mouse ears. I also have them change the voice to a cartoon character, so anything the person said or ever will say becomes funny and insignificant. My clients love this step because it gives them back their power. I remind them that their subconscious mind will now always view this person as "insignificant."
Here is the script, almost word for word. Say: "Now that you've cut the cords, it's time to shrink them down because they are taking up too much real estate in your head. So, shrink the person down so they are insignificant. This way, your subconscious mind will always see this person as insignificant from this point forward. Even if you are just thinking about the person, your mind will see him or her as insignificant. Now, make their voice sound funny like a cartoon character. This way, anything they may have said to you in the past or will say to you in the future is also insignificant and makes you laugh. Good job."
Then ask: "What did you shrink them down to?" Let them tell you. The image they choose is the one their subconscious will keep. A bug they stepped on. A tiny cartoon with a squeaky voice. A little clown. Whatever it is, it's now the file the subconscious pulls up every time this person comes to mind.
That is the whole step. Small, quick, and permanent. Do it every single time you cut cords.
Practice
Practice the shrinking script out loud until you can say it without reading. Then think of someone from your own life you'd shrink down — decide what you'd shrink them to and what their new voice sounds like. This is how you'll guide clients into their own image.
