Module 7 · Childhood Regression & The Inner Child

In the Womb — Pre-Birth Memory and the Unwanted Child

25 min

Why the womb holds some of the earliest and most defining wounds, how to recognize when the darkness is pre-birth, and how to guide the mother-in-the-womb work with reverence.

The subconscious mind holds every memory file since conception. When a child is conceived and in the womb, it understands its mother's and father's emotions. It can actually feel their emotions. If the parents are planning to have a child and are happy about the pregnancy, the child is happy. But if the parents are surprised and unhappy about the pregnancy, the child will feel unwanted, unlovable, and unworthy of being loved — and that belief will run their adult life until it is met.

This is why so many clients whose childhoods "looked fine" still carry a bone-deep sense of not belonging, of being a burden, of having to earn their place. The wound did not start in childhood. It started before they took a breath. The womb is one of the four places darkness can come from — childhood, the womb, a past life, or an entity — and it is the one clients almost never suspect on their own.

How to know you are in the womb. When you take a client back with "new or familiar" and they land somewhere dark, warm, watery, or wordless — no scene, no age, no people — you are likely in the womb. When they say "I feel like I shouldn't be here" or "I don't want to come," you are in the womb. When their body curls or their breathing changes and there is no memory attached, you are in the womb. Trust it. Ask, "How old are you?" If the answer is "I'm not born yet," you have your answer.

The mother's feelings are the child's feelings. In utero, there is no separation. If the mother is afraid, the child receives fear. If the mother is grieving, the child receives grief. If the mother did not want the pregnancy — or wanted it and was told by others she should not — the child receives "I am not wanted." A client's lifelong anxiety may simply be their mother's anxiety, absorbed before language. Fear that "started in the womb" and was their mother's fear passed down is a real, common finding, and naming it out loud is often the first time the client realizes the feeling was never theirs to begin with.

The unwanted child. When the darkness in the womb reveals itself as "I wasn't wanted," have the adult client speak to the baby in the womb. Have them tell the baby, in their own words, that they are wanted now, that they are loved now, that they belong here. Then have the adult reach in and hold the baby. This is the reparenting work carried one step earlier — before the crib, before the first breath. The subconscious accepts it exactly as it accepted the original message.

The adopted client. Many adopted clients carry a womb-level grief that has nothing to do with their adoptive parents, who may have loved them deeply. The grief is the moment of separation from the biological mother. In the womb work, allow the client to speak to the biological mother — to ask why, to hear what she can offer, and, most importantly, to be told, "You were loved. I could not keep you, but you were loved." Whether this is literal memory or the soul's own knowing does not matter to the healing. The wound closes either way.

Abortion and miscarriage — a delicate note. Sometimes the client's own womb holds a child who did not come through. If darkness in the abdomen turns into a baby, tread lightly and without judgment. Most clients who have lost or terminated a pregnancy carry overwhelming guilt. Invite the mother to explain, in her own words, why she made the decision she made, or to apologize if she needs to. Then send the child into the light — either to come back at another time as a child or grandchild, or to join her in her next life. Very often large hands come down for the baby, or Jesus or a deceased loved one comes to receive it. This is profoundly healing for both the client and the soul of the child. Once the child is in the light, let the darkness go into the light too, and the client will feel lighter and able to breathe.

A note on the script. The full In the Womb Script — the induction, the countdown, and the questions used to bring a client safely into and out of pre-birth memory — lives in the Hypnotherapist's Library of Scripts and Forms. Use this lesson to understand what you are looking for and why; use the script to run the session.

Practice

Write, in your own words, the exact sentence you would say to a baby in the womb who was not wanted, and the exact sentence you would say to the mother in that same scene. Read both aloud until they feel steady in your mouth.
