Hypnosis for Trauma
Why hypnosis reaches places talk therapy cannot, and how to release emotional trauma safely.
Where trauma actually lives
Trauma is not stored in the thinking mind. It is stored in the body and in the subconscious, which is why understanding the story of what happened rarely brings the healing a person is looking for. To release trauma you have to speak the language of the part of the mind that holds it.
Why hypnosis reaches it
The trance state quiets the analytical mind and opens direct access to the subconscious. In that state, a skilled hypnotherapist can guide a client to the origin of a fear, an anger, or a grief — often a moment much earlier than the client expected — and help the body release it gently, with support, in a way that leaves the person feeling lighter rather than re-traumatized.
The RESET Technique©
Susan Lawrence developed the RESET Technique© — Releasing Early Suppressed Emotional Trauma — as a five-step method for finding and releasing the root of a pattern in a single session. The five steps are:
- Recognize the pattern the client keeps repeating
- Enter the Divine State of Mind® together
- Seek the origin — the earliest moment the emotion took root
- Embrace the younger self who has been holding it
- Transform the belief and return with the emotion released
Is it safe?
Yes, when the hypnotherapist is trained. The client is always aware and in control, the pace is gentle, and the work is done with the client's own inner wisdom leading. This is not exposure therapy. Nothing is forced.
Learning to hold this work
The Divine Healing Hypnotherapy Certification teaches the full RESET Technique© alongside inner-child work, age regression, cord cutting, and past life regression — the complete toolkit for helping clients release trauma at the level where it lives.
